The overhang, the slope, and the way water is directed away from the flue are different. If you are not sure what you have, look for a Gelco label on the chase top or on the flue tile. No label? Measure the outside dimensions and check whether the base of the crown sits on brick or on metal. That detail tells us which family of Gelco crown you need before we even get on the roof.

Signs Your Gelco Crown Repair Is Failing

• Hairline cracks running across the crown surface. Freeze-thaw cycles in Rockland County push water into tiny fissures, where it freezes and widens them every winter. What starts as a cosmetic line becomes a channel for water within two seasons.
