HeatShield is a flue-resurfacing system, not a brand of caps or crowns. That’s the first thing to understand. The ceramic coating lives inside the flue. The cap and crown sit above it. When those two systems don’t match up right, water gets between them, and that’s where most HeatShield-related problems in Rockland County start.
- The CeCure sleeve liner and the orphaned cap. HeatShield’s CeCure is a cast-in-place refractory sleeve, usually paired with a stainless liner.
